Sonoma, California, Thursday, May 1, 2025 - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter David Sutsos Sr., of Santa Clarita, at age 72. Pete was the founder of Click2Enter, Inc., a former Director of the Sonoma County Water Board, a former Sonoma County Deputy Sheriff, a former Petaluma Police Officer, and a former truck driver for the now M. Brocco & Son's Trucking.
Known as a "wonderfully joyful spirit" who was always smiling, Pete was an accomplished Sonoma County Deputy Sheriff for many years. He established the "Dining with a Deputy" program in the late 1980s which made a meaningful impact on the department's relationship with the youth in Sonoma County.
After retiring from the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department, Pete followed his passion for electronics and attended Santa Rosa Community College, where he received his AS degree in Electronics Engineering. With this knowledge and his background in law enforcement, he devised a valuable product combining both fields. This emergency gate and door access control product for public safety agencies utilizes the one device all public safety personnel carry - their issued portable radio. Mandated in numerous counties across the country, it has gained the confidence of those agencies that use it and, more importantly, it has saved response times and lives.
He and his wife built and lived in their dream home in Chromo, Colorado, from 2015 until 2022. They moved to the Santa Clarita region of California in 2022 to be closer to their family and friends, who included them in their social lifestyle. Many holiday parties, 49ers/Warriors games, birthdays, and family Sunday night dinners were enjoyed together. Pete battled years of congestive heart failure and fought to the bitter end.
He was the firstborn of five children to Sonoma's Mike and Maria Sutsos. He is survived by his wife, Roganne, son Peter Jr., daughter-in-law Sarah Sutsos, brother Philip and sister-in-law Rachael Sutsos, sisters Kathryn Bruno and Helene Henry, grandson Peter Sutsos, granddaughter Audrey Sutsos, cousin Dean and cousin-in-law Beverly Davis, numerous nieces and nephews, and his neighbor, long-time friend, and "brother from another mother," Dennis Stolp. He was predeceased by his brother Michael Angelo Sutsos Jr., with whom Pete reestablished a relationship in their later years.
A celebration of Pete's was held on May 17th from 1-5 p.m. at 26029 Tourelle Pl, Valencia, CA 91355. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to either Dachshund Rescue of Northern California (DRNC) or Southern California Dachshund Relief, Inc.
